Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
teameventsireland.com is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website, and in doing so we aim to adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we've done
- The website is fully responsive and adapts to phone, tablet and desktop viewports.
- Content can be navigated using a keyboard, with visible focus styles on interactive elements.
- Heading levels are used in order to structure content semantically, so screen readers can build an accurate outline.
- Images include descriptive
alttext where they convey meaning, or are marked as decorative where they do not. - Form fields have associated labels and clear error messages.
- Colour contrast for body text and interactive elements meets WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Animations are reduced or disabled for visitors who have set their operating system to prefer reduced motion.
What we're still working on
We are continuing to improve accessibility across the site. Areas we know are not yet fully conformant to WCAG 2.1 AA include:
- Complex interactive components (such as the horizontal "drag to explore" rails on the home page) may not be fully usable with assistive technologies. Equivalent content is available on the All events page.
- Some decorative photography may benefit from additional context in surrounding text.
If you encounter an accessibility issue on the site, we'd be glad to hear about it - your feedback helps us prioritise the next round of improvements.
